On the night of July 14, 2021, time stood still for the people of the Ahr Valley. The flood and all those affected by it wrote their very own stories during and after the catastrophe.
With the 'museum of modern ahrts'
we have created a memorial that preserves the stories of the flood and the SolidAHRity movement for eternity.
Exhibits, enclosed in a 1,407m² cube made of 3,5 tons of resin, tell as silent witnesses the stories of those affected by the flood and those who helped, and remind us of forgotten promises and obligations in dealing with coming disasters.
With the support of strong partners, the #momahr draws attention to the situation in the Ahr valley with a nationwide campaign and promotes dialogue about how disasters and their consequences could be better managed in the future.Experience the history that moves our future.
The objects from the cube were then scanned and processed as digital objects by 3D artist Simon de Payrebrune. This allows them to be examined in detail in the digital exhibition.
The Cube is also sold as digital assets on NIFTEE's platform. These are initially limited to a quantity of 200 and can be purchased for 150€ each. The proceeds will go to the project.
On the second anniversary of the flood disaster, July 14th 2023, each sold asset of the Cube will be linked to an object of the museum's exhibits on this website and thus also to the fate of the 'musem of modern ahrts'.
